Alexander McQueen Dead at 40
Alexander Mcqueen, my favourite designer of all time (as soon in earlier posts) killed himself on Thursday morning by hanging himself. As sad as this sounds, it is true. His mother died earlier this year as did his muse and best friend. Eventhough on his twitter he stated that "Life must go on", he gave up and left his amazing career as the most influential designer of his time behind him. He has left aspiring designers, such as me, behind with extreme sadness. I have always dreamed of meeting him in hopes of collaborating with him one day. His life and accomplishments will be remembered forever and he will be missed by all. Rest In Peace McQueen.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Feb 2010
Fashion Week is Feb 11-18 in New York this year. I'm super excited to see the top designers such as: Badgley Mischka, BCBGMAXAZRIA, and African Collective. Here are some great pics from last Spring season 2010 in September:
Arise African Promise Collective
BCBGMAXAZRIA
Bagdley Mischka
Charlotte Ronson
Charlotte Ronson, in her Spring 2010 collection, loves those shoulder pads. Shoulder pads are back....I know, they're hard to pull off if your small like me, but it's worth a try. They are really cool when they are worn correctly. No 90's woman-suits!

RahRahRah Rhinestones
My goal for this new year is to collect as many vintage rhinestones necklaces and accessories as I can. This mean making my own as well. I'm pretty sure it would be fairly easy to create my own. Just get some nice rhinestone studs and some regular punk rock stones and bedazzle as many leather pieces and put them together as a choker, long necklace, or even a bracelet. Hopefully I'll get this idea rolling soon and i'll sell some on Etsy.com. I'll let you all know when this goal finally happens. It will be legendary!

It's Gaga Time
Lady Gaga- A revolutionary for the fashion scene, humanitarian for gay rights, extraordinary singer and songwriter, and an idol for a lot of us. For me, she is a grand inspiration. She brought Alexander McQueen to his fullest potential by harking his name and wearing his most outlandish and beautiful pieces in the public eye.
Here, in the photo i've posted, she wears Ray Ban Clubmasters (a lovely addition to an outfit) a Madonna-esque black latex bra and a Pink latex skirt. Simple to say the least, but she adds more flair with the leather studded gloves and her amazing personality to boot.
Personally, I believe the flack she gets from the public is undeserved. sure she got big in a blink of an eye, but that does not make her a Paris Hilton-esque persona. She is much more than that and I think she should be praised for her addition to the fashion scene.
