What you need to know:

BEAUTY

which designer will you be inspired by? loving the Mugler avant-garde circus eye.
this look may be harder to recreate than it seems. hopefully the messier the better in my case.

the metallic french tip makes me smile, but the nude makes me sad.

pour la victoire for the win on this one. printed bags on top of multi printed outfits.

Kenzo, Prada, and Miu Miu aced geometry in their collections. (im so clever)

peplums are not dead. they lived a half-life during spring and are still alive and well

(ignore the terrible miu miu typo from the past blogger) but the midi heel is back but im not really feeling the (pardon my french) half-assed height.

Let's get serious now.

Let's be honest. Spring and summer are the seasons where designers and fashionistas kick back and forget about what matters most. But as soon and August hits, all hell breaks loose. This is serious talk. These fall trends are so major, it needs to be addressed.

One of my favorites to boot has to be Proenza Schouler's Fall 2012 collection. I have never really really loved dearly their lines, but this is definitely their year.

this fantastic rounded shoulder silhouette is androgynous and sexy at the same time. I'd hit that. for sure.

Asian royalty inspired dress? Its as if they were like, "ohhh, this is what women want to wear!"

textures on top of textures on top of mini prints. Good idea PS! (:

loving the minuscule prints and the asymmetrical skirt? shorts? either way, love it.
Flawless print mixing. Seriously effortless
 A little Bottega Venetta/Ann Demeulemeester-esque. A mix way overdue.

Paris: Fall 2012

This past week, Vogue has been keeping up with the street style at all events in Paris and abroad. From models to plus-ones in head-to-toe couture.

seriously need to figure this out and recreate it. might get some of my favorite dirty looks.
 Ulyana Sergeenko gown.
model Hanne Gaby Odiele in Dries van Noten. Grandpa chic to the next level, loving it to death.
Maison Martin Margiela tapestry clutch. I ABSOLUTELY WOULD KILL for this.
Rodarte knit tunic. Ehhhh not feeling it :/
Jill sander clutch/natuka dress. So chic it hurts badly.

In Add Minus

The new label i've been researching is In Add Minus, an upcoming label which has their own store in the Westfield Century City mall and one in Sherman Oaks. A few of their pieces came into my store the other day and I fell in love. Their style can be related to that of Diesel; a more modern industrial look. They are simple with details that make them their own and great.

Peplumania

The most apparent trend being seen on the runway are peplum details. Designers such as Thakoon, Proenza Schouler and Marc Jacobs have exhibited peplum detailing in all of their lines. Now, this is a great trend for women that have a slim straight figure but for those of us with a little more in the mid section, it might not be the most flattering trend.
But of course, on the models, it's a great look when paired with the tight bodices and pencil skirt. The peplum can come in many different varieties, which allow designers to have many options. Personally, the ruffled peplum (as seen on the far left) is my favourite style.

the middle of light and blessings

A good friend of mine, Erica Seda, took these fabulous photos of me the other day. I am wearing a silk paisley tunic that I found at a sample sale, a mustard fringe scarf from H&M, and my Jeffrey Campbell Litas.
We journeyed to an abandoned church (I frequent abandoned churches, I guess) and had fun with it. It was a fantastic day, weather-wise and situation-wise.

I got a new job at Crossroads in Old Town Pasadena. I am so excited I can barely stand it. I start on Tuesday so I of course will let you know how that goes...

polaroids from the past couple days

That cute guy lighting his cigarette is my baby. That guy that looks like a mix between Steven Tyler and Marc Bolan is my fake brother Keelan. That blonde chick that looks like a friend of mine is my mother.
