In Add Minus

The new label i've been researching is In Add Minus, an upcoming label which has their own store in the Westfield Century City mall and one in Sherman Oaks. A few of their pieces came into my store the other day and I fell in love. Their style can be related to that of Diesel; a more modern industrial look. They are simple with details that make them their own and great.

Peplumania

The most apparent trend being seen on the runway are peplum details. Designers such as Thakoon, Proenza Schouler and Marc Jacobs have exhibited peplum detailing in all of their lines. Now, this is a great trend for women that have a slim straight figure but for those of us with a little more in the mid section, it might not be the most flattering trend.
But of course, on the models, it's a great look when paired with the tight bodices and pencil skirt. The peplum can come in many different varieties, which allow designers to have many options. Personally, the ruffled peplum (as seen on the far left) is my favourite style.

the middle of light and blessings

A good friend of mine, Erica Seda, took these fabulous photos of me the other day. I am wearing a silk paisley tunic that I found at a sample sale, a mustard fringe scarf from H&M, and my Jeffrey Campbell Litas.
We journeyed to an abandoned church (I frequent abandoned churches, I guess) and had fun with it. It was a fantastic day, weather-wise and situation-wise.

I got a new job at Crossroads in Old Town Pasadena. I am so excited I can barely stand it. I start on Tuesday so I of course will let you know how that goes...

polaroids from the past couple days

That cute guy lighting his cigarette is my baby. That guy that looks like a mix between Steven Tyler and Marc Bolan is my fake brother Keelan. That blonde chick that looks like a friend of mine is my mother.

trend prediction for summer 2011: cape blouses

All of these cape blouses can be found at Asos.com at various prices. I did 'cape blouses' for an assignment for class as a trend prediction for this summer. I happily have noticed cape blouses in various styles in stores everywhere.

Yay.
I love the cape details that designers have added to simple, more casual blouse basics. Button down fronts with possible cape plackets or cape shoulder details. I looove them. (especially the 1st one which is on sale right now for $40)

elevator-f me

These are the Jeffrey Campbell Elevator-F's. Aren't they spectacular? Yes. Available in all sizes still on Polyvore and Lori's Shoes. Better get them quick for spring.

the daydream + mid-morning

A photoshoot with Jackie Treadwell in a monastery in my area. The top is simply a London Fog vest tied together covering a geometric black bra from Urban Outfitters. The structured skirt is by Zara and the platforms are Jeffrey Campbell Litas.
